Slim Khosrof was born
in 1951 in Tunisia, where he is in charge of
research at the National Heritage Institute,
where he is the Head of the Conservation Laboratory
that serves the majority of Tunisian museums.
His studies at the University of Paris allowed
him to obtain a PhD (3rd Cycle of Conservation)
after a Masters in Science and Techniques of
Conservation and the Restoration of Cultural
property.
He is also the holder
of a Diploma of Art and Archaeology and a Diploma
of Teaching History and Geography.

In his duties at the
NHI, he is involved in the implementation and
devlopment of 'muséographique' of the NHI as
concerns the preservation of museum collections,
and he takes part in the protection of intangible
cultural heritage of Tunisia. He teaches at
the University of Tunis and at the National
Institute of Heritage Studies.
He is a member of the
ICOM National Committee, of which he was Chairman
for two mandates. He undertook a mission for
UNESCO covering a number of countries in the
Arab region, and is also a partner in numerous
relevant projects of the European Commission,
dealing with the conservation of cultural heritage
of Mediterranean countries. He is currently
a member of the ICCROM Council.
