Dr Rudo Sithole

Dr Rudo Sithole
Dr Sithole holds a doctorate in Entomology. She has served as the Director of the Natural History Museum of Zimbabwe. During her time as head of this institution she facilitated the completion of the Old Bulawayo Theme Park which opened in 2006. She chaired the finalization of the now world acclaimed Matobo World Heritage Area Management Plan.
She has received numerous awards including the ICIPE-BMZ Scholarship to undertake her PhD Studies in 2000

She has also been a recipient of the Bio-Net International Fellowship in the UK and has presented and published scholarly papers at local, national, regional and international levels. Among her numerous contributions within the sector, she has served as Vice President of the ICOM Committee on Natural History Collections and Biodiversity, as an Advisory Board Member in the Carnivore Research Unit in Zimbabwe and as country co-coordinator for Bio-Net Internationa.

Officer

Lilian Okeyo Lange
Joined AFRICOM as the administrative Officer in 2010. She holds a Masters degree in Human Resource Management,A BA in public Administration and Sociology,a diploma in business management,a certificate in project planning and evaluation,strategic planning,ISO training among others.She joined AFRICOM on secondment from the National Museums of Kenya where she served in various capacities since July 1997.

Francis Awinda
Information
Officer

Francis Awinda
was born in Nairobi, Kenya. He is instrumental in the development and management of the AFRICOM Information Centre which is focused in creating access to heritage information by presenting it in digital format. He is also involved in the management of the AFRICOM website, Newsletter and moderating the AFRICOM-L which is an online discussion forum for museum professionals.

Francis is trained in Web Design Specialization,Information sciences and has a Postgraduate in Museum and Heritage studies. He joined AFRICOM in the year 2003 and is a member of ICOM, CIDOC, Kenya Library Association and Global Youth Coalition on Aids (GYCA). Francis is fluent in English and Kiswahili.
