New Africom Executive Director
El Hadji Mbaye Gueye is the new Executive Director of the International Council of African museums (AFRICOM). Mbaye was in charge of programs at the West African museum programes (WAMP) based in Dakar, Senegal.

He was appointed by the Board of Directors chaired by its President Mrs Chedlia Annabi on the 4th of October 2006 in Cape Town, South Africa. Mbaye has a Masters Degree from the University of Management from National School in applied Economy (ENEA), Dakar and certification in Project Management from the State University of Illinois, Chicago.
Mbaye has been with WAMP since 1993 and comes with a wealth of experience to AFRICOM.
